Restorative Yoga / Active Relaxation
“You are the sky. Everything else – it’s just the weather.”
― Pema Chödrön
In restorative yoga, we practice connecting to layers of being. We seek to let go of negative tension, regardless of its reasons or origins in the body. We do this by bringing compassionate awareness to places of holding. This awareness is cultivated by using breath as an anchor and guide, to assist in charting the body with curiosity, openness and forgiveness. We learn to consciously relax and peel back layers of self, drawing us closer to our authentic being. This is truly a practice that is accessible to all bodies and abilities.
In my classes, I offer a gentle, slow flow that leads to a series of floor postures that support and ground the body with props. I guide you through postures that will allow your physical body to release, revealing tension that may lay deeper within.
